About Hera
Diani is a freelance journalist based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Previously,
she worked for 15 months as an investigative journalist at Jakarta
Globe daily, where she pursued in-depth articles on various issues,
particularly social welfare. Prior to joining the Globe, she was a journalist
for seven years at The Jakarta
Post newspaper, covering topics as diverse as politics, business, health,
religious tolerance (or lack thereof), culture and food. Her work has also
appeared in publications as diverse as Foreign
Policy, plusnews, IPS
news service and Van Zorge Report.Aside from writing articles, she has also provided commentaries for local television stations, and became a member of jury panel for national film festivals. She has also involved in a project at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Jakarta office, as the program associate for the establishment of HIV/AIDS control program in prison and the research on harm reduction program development. Hera has been a Reuters Foundation fellow and East West Center Jefferson Fellow. She received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universitas Katolik Parahyangan in Bandung, West Java. Resume.
